The New Normal with Germs – Airborne for hours Part 1

Health and Safety are never going to stop being important. The coronavirus pandemic showed the world that improvements in cleaning and disinfection were necessary.
Americans are mobile people and we spread our germs! We travel in cars, shop in large buildings, work in high traffic offices, attend church and schools with hundreds of people, just to suggest a few ways. As our world slowly moves back into pre-pandemic normalcy, everyone needs to continue prioritizing Health and Safety for multiple reasons. Coronavirus is not gone, nor will it be the last virus to worry about. Before Covid-19 there was MERS-CoV, H1N1 Flu, and SARS-CoV, and this is just since the year 2000. These were airborne diseases just like our colds and flu we deal with all the time.
Also, many people want to believe this period of prioritizing cleaning and disinfecting will be temporary. In reality, this pandemic has been a wake-up call, an opportunity for change. Health and Safety must remain at the forefront of everyone’s minds.
The EPA warns – “Transmission of COVID-19 from inhalation of virus in the air can occur at distances greater that six feet. Particles from and infected person can move throughout an entire room or indoor space. The particles can also linger in the air after a person has left the room – they can remain airborne for hours in some cases.” https://www.epa.gov/coronavirus/indoor-air-and-coronavirus-covid-19
How does your cleaning and disinfection stack up to the harmful germs you, your customers, and employees breathe every day? Do you clean differently than two years ago? Are you treating the air?
Our NebulaOne (https://arcusmanufacturing.com/media) the mobile disinfecting machine, is a great tool for the routine disinfecting of large spaces while still getting to all the hard-to-reach areas. These microscopic disinfectant drops even attacks germs in the air – where these harmful pathogens live and spread – for hours after the machine is turned off.
Next week we will cover – Terminology used for “Clean, Disinfect, Sanitize” and what they really mean.
